  20.         WHAT IS 'ELSEWARE'?
  21.  
  22.         ELSEWARE is a set of programs which will allow you to use your PC
  23.         from anywhere. ELSEWARE is identical to commercially available
  24.         software which makes the same claim with one important exception...
  25.  
  26.         ELSEWARE is free.
  27.  
  28.         One of my responsibilities is to write and support voice response
  29.         and recognition software. Most of the systems are on the other side
  30.         of the country and finding the right remote access software was
  31.         very important to me.
  32.  
  33.         What I discovered is that all the programs available commercially
  34.         which allow you to use a PC from remote take up too much memory and
  35.         are too sluggish. Some of my voice response systems would not leave
  36.         enough DOS CORE memory to allow any of the commercial programs to
  37.         load. There is also a general lack of ability to control the time
  38.         slicing with any of the commercial programs and this is something I
  39.         had to have in order to support certain voice response systems
  40.         remotely.

  42.         So I wrote my own and have used it successfully ever since.

  44.         The EWH.EXE host module requires ONLY ABOUT 8K ( 8000 bytes! ).
  45.         An additional 6-8K will be allocated for screen buffers.
  46.         Dpending on how you set the time slicing it is as fast if not
  47.         FASTER than any commercial remote access software I have tried.

  49.         The product has grown since version 2.1. Setup screens and
  50.         HELP screens are now standard. More features are being added
  51.         so watch for new releases. If you register your copy I'll mail
  52.         new versions directly to you AS SOON AS THEY ARE AVAILABLE!

  54.         ELSEWARE is FREEWARE, not SHAREWARE. You can copy and distribute
  55.         it as freely as you like. No strings attached. It has served
  56.         me well and I hope it will do the same for you.

  58.         PRINTING THE DOCUMENTATION
  59.  
  60.         The documentation is in plain ASCII format and contains
  61.         FORM FEED characters.
  62.  
  63.         Just use 'COPY EW.DOC PRN' to send the documentation to
  64.         the printer. The files should end up on paper properly
  65.         paginated and ready to be punched with holes on the left.
